PLAYCRAFTER

A USER CASE STUDY BY

Landing Screen

My goal for this screen is just a simple landing screen with normal login buttons, as well as a “New Releases” section at the bottom
After logging in, you can easily search for your item to trade. You also have your credits tab next to the profile icon
This third frame is the start of a “Sellers” page. You can scroll through and see what users have and so on
Digital
Wireframes
My overall goal was to create something that would work for this particular user problem. Needing to trade gaming equipment to purchase a new piece of equipment. I wanted to make sure that the obvious “Trade” button was visible as this is an important aspect of the app.
Paper
Wireframes
My main goal for these wireframes was to create a solid foundational layout for my homepage. I wanted to make sure I added clear titles and obvious buttons and shapes.
I didn’t create one from the exact drawing, but rather took elements and pieced them together to create something more unique.
Project
Overview
THE PRODUCT: PLAYCRAFTER GAMING
Allows gamers to trade in broken equipment for store credits. Users can then use those credits towards a new item from the site. Or they can buy the equipment outright.

Summary
I found that the most effective way to gather data for this particular user problem would be to run a usability study. I wanted to know the most efficient way for a user to search for an item to trade in --- and how PlayCrafter compares to its competitors.
This allowed me to gather qualitative information to move forward with the study.
THE PROBLEM:
The user is looking to buy a new controller because their buttons/joysticks will get stuck, but product is still usable.
THE GOAL:
Our PlayCrafter app will let users trade broken or used gaming equipment for store credit. This will affect users in the gaming community by allowing users to trade directly to the site. We will measure the success by reading user reviews, tracking sales, and profits.

Reflection
During the usability study for the PlayCrafter app, several key findings were identified that needed attention to improve the overall user experience.
Confirmation Email for Final Sale: Users also requested a confirmation email to be sent to them upon finalizing a sale on the app. This feature would provide users with peace of mind that their transaction was successful and ensure that they have a record of their purchase.
Color Change for Store Credits Outline: Users suggested adding a color change to outline their store credits within the app. This visual cue would help users easily identify their store credits and distinguish them from other elements on the screen.
By addressing these accessibility problems and implementing the requested features, the PlayCrafter app can enhance the user experience and make it more user-friendly for all users.
Thank you!

Points

“I need something that will allow me to make the gaming plays that we all want to see. I do it for my fans.”
GOALS:
Trying to find an affordable controller replacement that is built to last
Does not want to spend full price if all possible
FRUSTRATIONS:
Controllers don’t last very long despite costing $75
Can’t find reliable retailer that can fulfill trading needs
Kyle enjoys streaming and spending time with his two young kitties. He’s an avid collector of pop culture figures and wants to continue growing his collection. He also spends quality time with his new nephew, Hollis and can’t wait to show him the gaming “ropes.”

My execution of this user journey map was to make sure the user is able to search for their item to trade, then confirm that trade item with a few clicks.
